Cooking Assignment(s)

Over the course of the program we will be doing several types of cooking. For each of these types of cooking, students will be asked to come up with recipes to try during our cooking sessions. For each of the following types of cooking, each student is responsible for coming up with two recipes they would like to try. The ingredients should be readily available and within the student’s budget. They will meet with their other cooking partners to decide on the final recipes they will be trying. All recipes should be nutritional and consideration should be given to food storage issues such as refrigeration.

Each camping adventure will require the development of menus. These menus will have certain requirements, such as with or without fire, bag lunch, cold meal, one pan meal, etc. The exact requirements for each specific menu will be made available in advance of the trips.

GORP (good ol’ raisins and peanuts) is user specific and designed. Each student will be required to develop their own recipe for GORP.
